Privacy Policy

Last updated: 23 October 2026

Dawaiz ("we") runs the Dawaiz app, which connects people who need medicine with verified pharmacies near them in India. This policy explains what we collect, why, who sees it, and your choices. It applies to patients, family members who order for them, and pharmacy partners.

What we collect

InformationWhy we need it
Mobile numberTo log you in with a one-time code and to identify your account.
Name (optional) and languageTo greet you and show the app in Hindi or English.
Location and delivery addressTo find the nearest open pharmacy and to deliver. We use your location when you order; we do not track you in the background.
Prescription and medicine photosSo a registered pharmacist can read and check them before packing. You choose whether to keep them saved in your account.
Orders, bills and bill photosTo process your order, show you the final bill, and handle complaints.
Device notification tokenTo send order updates and medicine reminders to your phone.
Medicine reminders and doses (Care): medicine name, times, days, tablets left, and whether you marked a dose takenTo ring your phone at medicine time, remind you before tablets run out, and tell the family members you added if a dose is missed. Reminders ring from your phone; the server keeps the times and dose marks so the family alert works.
Asking nearby shops about a medicine (Shortage Finder): the medicine and your location at that momentTo ask the open shops near you whether they have it. Shops see only the medicine and how far away the customer is, never your name, number or address. Kept for 2 days for your answers.
Order status link you share with familyAnyone with the link sees only the order status, the shop name and the number of items, not your address, phone or medicine names.
Prescription photo readingWhen you upload a prescription, the photo is sent to Google Cloud Vision to read the text, and we match it to medicines in our list. Google processes it only to return the text. You check the list before anything goes to your cart, and the pharmacist checks the prescription before packing.
Ordering for someone else: their name, mobile number, and the address and location they send from the link you shareSo the shop nearest to them can deliver, and the shop and delivery person know whom to hand the medicine to. The link works once, for 2 days. The order stays in your account.
Family members you add: their name, relation and mobile numberSo they can get an alert when a dose is missed and a daily summary at 22:00. If that number has a Dawaiz account, it is linked to yours for this purpose only.
Monthly medicines list and the date you choseTo remind you once a month and to fill your cart in one tap.
Ratings and complaintsTo improve pharmacies and fix problems with an order.
"Coming to your area" list: mobile number and approximate location (also without an account)To tell you when a partner pharmacy starts near you, and to decide where to add pharmacies. You can ask us to remove it.
Invite and promoter codes: the code you entered and the code you shareTo count how many people a code brought and to pay sales partners for verified shops and first orders. Promoters see only counts, never your details.
Usage countsThe number of times each step happens in a day (for example "app opened" or "order placed"), with no name, number, device ID or health detail, so we can see where the app is hard to use.
Pharmacy partners: shop details, drug licence number and photos, shop photo, pharmacist details, shop location and hoursTo verify the shop before it gets orders, to remind it before the licence expires, and to send it nearby orders while it is open.
Pharmacy partners: stock lists (medicine, batch, expiry, quantity, MRP), sales reports, stock exchange listings and offersTo send orders first to shops that have the medicines, to show the shop its reports and expiring stock, and to match near-expiry stock with nearby shops. Other shops see a listing without the shop's name until the shop accepts an offer.

Medicine orders and prescriptions are health information. We treat them as sensitive and use them only to fulfil your order.

Who sees your information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not show your health information to advertisers.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and order history while your account is active, and as long as the law requires for medicine sale records. Prescription photos you did not choose to save are kept only as long as needed for the order and its records. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information, except what we must keep by law.

Your choices and rights

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections. Each user and pharmacy can reach only their own records; prescription and licence photos are kept in private storage. No system is perfectly secure, and we will inform you and the authorities of a breach as the law requires.

Children

The app is meant for adults. A parent or guardian should place orders for a child.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and show the new date at the top. For important changes we will also tell you in the app.
